PATRICK O’BRIEN

Patrick has been a professional artist and illustrator since the mid-1980s. His art has appeared in magazines and newspapers, on posters and greeting cards, and even on billboards. He has created many commissioned paintings for such clients as Lockheed Martin, ExxonMobil, the Smithsonian, and National Geographic.

Awards:

• Outstanding Service Award, 2012: from The National Maritime Historical Society

• Distinguished Service Award, 2020: from The American Society of Marine Artists

• Museum Purchase Award, 2010: from The Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, CT

• Award of Excellence, 2003 and 2010: from the Mystic International Marine Art Exhibition

Solo exhibitions have been held in:

• New York City, Annapolis, MD, Alexandria, VA, and Portsmouth, VA.

• The U.S. Naval Academy Museum
