The painting was inspired by a visit to Victoria, BC. My wife and I loved the area and I was drawn to a colorful show of boats in the harbor. The boats appeared as a tapestry of bright colors, dazzling sunlight, blue shadows and compound curves--tailor made for a painting rendered in a loose, impressionistic style.
