Larry Moore, ASMA

“Blue, Pink and Green"

Oil, 36” x 48”

Having grown up on the ocean and spending a lifetime surfing in Florida, the breaking wave is the most fascinating subject for me to paint. Just paddling out into the line up and getting the unique perspective on how water operates, how it turns into powerful energy as it rolls up to the shore, traveling for hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles, is an endless source of inspiration. I’ve sat for hours on a surfboard or on the beach, just watching the ever changing beauty that the ocean provides. This painting is part of an ongoing series of paintings celebrating our mother ocean and the bountiful sea. It incorporates a new technique I’m developing for better surface, more broken edges using unusual painting tools.
