“Low Country Splendor”

Oil, 30” x 40”

Living on a small Sea Island in coastal South Carolina, I am surrounded by my subject. A myriad of river systems and serpentine creeks meander through the vast tidal marshes. As the tide ebbs, the receding waters reveal interesting pools and patterns in the mud flats. Throughout the year these great salt marshes present a fascinating change of seasonal color, from the grays and browns of winter to the brilliant greens of summer, and the golden hues of autumn. All of this provides me with an endless source of inspiration.
