“When The Mist is Lifting”

Oil, 20” x 30”

It was early morning along a Connecticut shore, and the mist was so thick there wasn't much to be seen anywhere. How quiet it was in this very serene and almost mystical location. As the mist slowly began to lift, the appearance of many varieties of birds and waterfowl were gathered here and the distant image of a boat was just barely visible. I set up my easel and started working quickly, but soon the mist was gone and there I stood with only the memory and my unfinished painting. Determined to capture on canvas the memory of those moments when the mist was lifting was my sole intent for this painting.
