The American Society of
Marine Artists is proud to be leading the first global online exhibition
representing the finest marine art as selected by our society, the Australian Society of Marine Artists , the
Canadian Society of Marine Artists, l’Association des Peintres
Officiels de la Marine (France) and the Royal Society of Marine
Artists (United Kingdom). The exhibition's website, InternationalMarineArt.com, will premiere June 15, 2021 and remain open to the public until June 30th, 2022. The Society will produce a high-quality catalog of the show.
Submission is open to any ASMA member in good standing (current dues paid). Each artist is asked to submit their very finest, museum quality work for consideration.
As a digital exhibition, the submission terms are very liberal. There are no size or weight restrictions. Work may have been created at any time in your career. Submitted work can be in your possession, part of a corporate or institutional collection, or privately owned.
Submissions will be accepted from February 10, 2021 through March 29, 2021. All ASMA entries will be juried by the Fellowship no later than May 10, 2021. Notifications will be sent out through Submittable via E-mail to all artists no later than June 1, 2021.
Mediums accepted for ASMA entries include oil, water media, acrylic, pastel, drawing, etching, engraving, scrimshaw and sculpture. Sculpture is limited to bronze, stone, or wood. No cold cast bronze, ceramic or any type of stoneware is accepted. No digital art or painting created by painting over paper or canvas printed photographs will be accepted.
How to Enter:
Only one work per ASMA artist may be entered. Images must be submitted in .jpeg format at 300 dpi. Images should be at least 7" and not more than 10" on the longest side. This requirement is to assist in creating a high quality, color catalog of the Exhibition.
Complete the online submission form that follows. There will be an Entry fee of $30 for all ASMA members in good standing (dues paid).
Images must be labeled as follows:
Artists Name (Last, First)
Full Title of the Work
Medium (Do not include descriptors beyond basic materials; i.e. "Oil on Linen")
Dimensions of Work (Please list dimensions in inches)
Please underscore between each required field:
Lastname_Firstname_Full title of the work_Medium_Dimensions (In inches)
Artist must supply the dimension of their artwork in centimeters in the designated area of the application. Centimeters should be rounded up or down; Example: an 18"x24" painting would be 45.72 cm x 60.96 cm, and would be rounded up in the designated box as 46 x 61cm. Each artist can obtain inches to centimeter conversions by looking it up on the internet before completing the submission. Please double check the labeling on all images to assure your submission is accurately prepared for the jury.
